But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded!

CHRISTCHURCH

One of the most beautiful cities of New Zealand, on the South Island, the third largest city in the country, with about 400,000 inhabitants, has become a major place to preach, due to some events that marked the news from around the world in the year 2011.

On February 22 of 2011, an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter Scale, caused the death of 185 people in the Canterbury region and destroyed a city built of stones and mortar.

This fact caused the exodus of many residents of the city affected by the earthquake to other cities in the region and the reverse exodus of Brazilians from all regions of New Zealand to Christchurch. Many of them with experience in the construction area, received an employment contract and the promise of being employed for a long term basis until the city could be reconstructed.

These facts provided the city the necessary conditions to become a great evangelistic field. Thinking about it, Christian Agape Centre began its services among families who opened the door of their homes for the first meetings. Pastor Jose Wanderlei started the activities in the city with Pastor Andre D’alves who went to Queenstown church at that time.

We didn’t have a pastor who resided in the city, but on December 14 2013, the missionary family, Pastor Eduardo Mendonça and his wife Laila Stagno and his son Leonardo took the needed church. After a while God gave them a present, the newborn Rebecca.

Today we have an alive church, aware of the problems people face every day and active in evangelism.

Our meetings are on Saturdays at 7p and it will be easy to find our church whether you wish to join us.

We pray for the city, we pray for missionary work, let us pray for the affected families, let us pray for our brothers who live there, let us pray…
